When we talk about SEO, I feel a constant urge to differentiate between the old practices and the new one. This need emerges as there has been a “HUGE” (yes literally very huge) evolution from the methods and techniques that were once used. Gone are the days when link building and keyword stuffing where the primary SEO activity. The emphasis on having quality “CONTENT” which is relevant and imbibed in websites that provide the best “USER EXPERIENCE” has never been on greater demand.
According to “Marketing Sherpa 2013”Content creation ranks as the single most effective technique. It is thus necessary to concentrate on these aspects and make sure that you equip yourself according to the need of the hour.
Ok since I’ve mentioned about content, I feel I won’t be doing justice to it if I don’t go a little deeper into it. Time and again you have been hearing the constantly iterated phrase “Content is King”, “Content Marketing is all the Marketing that’s left” etc. It is after repeated trial and error methods that businesses all over came to a conclusion that their target audience are very specific about their needs and wants and if they have to survive in this highly competitive age they would need to reconsider the techniques that they have been implementing . And what better opportunity to attract their interest than to provide them exactly what they want. Tremendous change was seen in the response. Google had also given better ranks to sites that provide quality content.
Content could consists of:
- Case studies etc
In short it includes anything that provides quality and apt information to a customer about what he/she searches for. This is how the Modern Marketer engages their audience, promotes their brand and ultimately yields high conversions. If you haven’t yet started working on it, oh you should definitely reconsider your strategies.
Now “IF” you haven’t lost your patience yet (I really hope not) I would quickly give you a summary about another very prominent factor that you need to consider for effective Marketing. Yes it is “User Experience”. Make sure your website is user friendly. Google has been very particular about providing best user experience so you better be going hand in hand with Google on that one. Some key points to be noted are:
- Make sure your website have proper navigation which are clear.
- Keep an eye on your Load speed
- Use proper formatting styles and fonts that are comfortable for your user
- Don’t go overboard with your content
- Make your Website more interactive so as to engage the user
- Highlight the important points properly including Urls.
- Your company logo is properly placed
- Images have alt text.
- Your home page should be clearly understood in 5-10 secs max.
These are just some of the many points that has to be noted. The user experience you provide will determine the success and failure of your website. Therefore keep in mind always that the age of deceiving your audience is over. The more transparent you are, the more Google will do wonders for your business.
